My cat

We have a cat that always looks pissed off. Maybe she is but I think the markings on her face give her a sour faux demeanor. But her eyes are incredible. It took her about 3 years before she decided she wanted to be a lap cat. Otherwise, she will tease you for attention and then bite you and run away - her favorite game.

I wanted to try my hand at animal hair again and I'm closer than I was the last time I tried.

Actually this is one of those times when I should have just left well enough alone and been grateful that I got a great photograph. Instead of the red-eye reflection, I got her golden orbs - all without re-touching. Pretty gorgeous, huh? Could you believe she was a very sick little kitten that Sweet Farmer found in the road?

This is a good time to show you a little sketch I did from an interesting wine label. I believe it says "Castle of the New Cat" once translated from French.

As anyone knows who has a cat knows- su casa is gato's casa - that's Spanish for "it ain't your house - it's the cat's" -

You've captured it beautifully.

I miss my kitty witty. He had a sweet face AND was always pissed off. Fooled the best of us - except me :)

Oh-I know that saying to well. Got some gatos that rule my casa and life! They tell when to get up, go to bed and when they need to be fed- in no uncertain terms!

I like your portrait of kitty. She's what I call a Picasso kitty with the beautiful markings on her nose. And I really love your label. That is really pretty.

Wow - I agree with Linda - you DID do a great job capturing your cat's expression. Beautiful cat, though the markings (as you said) make her look sad, or grumpy.

We actually visited a ruined place on a hilltop in Southern France (decades ago) that was called Chateau Neuf. The British use this name, too - it's Newcastle. And while we were there we did find and rescue a skinny dark cat (full of fleas, it turned out) that had been abandoned there. So your cat sketch (the wine label) rings weirdly like a story from my own life...

I don't know if she's indignant or just grumpy but you've captured her expression perfectly. I followed you over here from Michelle Burnett's blog. I especially enjoyed that Brazilian was post.
