Passions of an Odd Chick

Scare Yourself at least once a day.

I'm crackin myself up over here. Not because I probably just did one of the craziest portraits of my series (She Speaks For Herself, No. 9), but because I scared myself to death and loved every moment of it.
I needed to do something different. Really different. (And should you paint when you have PMS???) I was getting bored with myself. My bad twin was just eeking to get out after making some nice girls. Whenever I want that crazy creative part of me to come forward, I just think of my daughter. If you've been around here for very long you know that she has always been an inspiration in my art. You never know what color, what style my daughter's hair will be or what she will have on. She can look like pageant queen or rocker dude. She has always made me smile with her sense of wacky style and design.
I've also been listening to some creative voices that are encouraging me to loosen up my out-lining, tighten up my drawing skills, add HANDS (this was such a challenge and scary) and other elements,  and push myself a little further every time I show up to paint. SCARY!!
Thank you Lady Gaga for helping with the hands! Isn't she an inspiration to step outside your comfort zone??

This painting was like going to a really good scary movie that finished with a funny ending. And you walk out thinking, "that wasn't a scary movie after all, but it was a fun little drama!"
Let's go see it again.

Now I wonder, if by the time I finish 20 - if they will even look like a series by the same artist. I hope not.
.... that would be really scary......

OMG - I laughed out loud when I saw her - not at her, but because she looks like she is having a good time and doesn't care if I look at her with a raised eyebrow. You gave her the power! Can't put her back in the box now! Love it! Keep going! They're getting better and better!

I think it's great to let your moods create for you--this is going to be fun and look at all of your many faces that reflected your feelings.
P.S. I love Lady GaGa too--we need more of her!

Peggy, this one is my bestest friend, lol!!! At first site, the bright background grabbed me ~~ love bright colors! Then her hand is AWESOME, and says it all for her. Your twin has some wonderful attitude within her ~~ glad you let her out! You're work is progressing beautifully, sweetie! I'm loving seeing what you've done next! Wishing you a fabulous weekend! Gotta check out your daughter's blog next.

I like her.
And your travels through the fear.
Gives me that roller coaster feeling
...intimidated but drawn towards the scary stuff just the same.
And I always breathe deeper after I get off a roller coaster.
Really.

I would have emailed you but wanted to tell you about a book I found on Amazon.com, called Art Marketing 101, it covers it all including framing and presenting your art which you had questions about and a slue of other things, comes highly recommended by other artist. You can check out table of contents etc.

I am still giggling over her! I LOVE HER!!!! She has ATTITUDE and looks like a fun and adventurous woman to be around. Maybe she could loosen up my tendancy to try and be to rigid and perfect when creating. I'm working on it though.

Again I must say she is a doll! I LOVE HER.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this one! (as I do all of them :c)

Odd Chick - You are very kind. Metaphorically true only. Nurturing one's self is a learned trait I believe. I was a bit of a late bloomer in that regard but begun it has. Thank you for your kindness.
