Courage.

No. 10 Courage
Yes, I need a huge dose of it. I'm still trying new things. It's like a baking a new recipe for an important party that you've never tried before, never tasted.
I envy people that work in studios with other artist and can bounce things off of them.
I have no clue what I'm doing. Everything has to be learned from a book, a video or I have to drive 200 miles or farther for a workshop. Or I beg for tips, comments, critiques, anything to help.

And then I think of the people I know right now who are dealing with chronic pain, heart-ache, financial difficulties.
One sweet man I know has a hernia, and every time he stands up, he has to hold his stomach in because it has been pushed out somehow by this hernia. This is after surgery for a bleeding ulcer.
One beautiful woman I know has been separated from her husband for 3 years and still loves him and prays for him to return some day and yesterday they found an "unusual" lump in her breast. She just waits to find out how that will change her life - alone.
I can count 10 people right now that I know are dealing with cancer!!
Two single women I know are going through bankruptcy- losing everything and starting over and the economy crisis just won't let up on them.
Honestly, I don't really need courage when it comes to art.
Art is a privilege. A necessary luxury.
Wouldn't it be great if our art could actually give someone a reminder of courage in a moment of crisis?
Art can heal. It can bring beauty into some one's life that is parched and tired and sick.
I think it's definitely worth the endeavor, and whatever struggle I try to make it.

Absolutely! A resounding yes to what you've expressed so well here. Courage indeed, and the image you've painted captures it well. Kudos on expressing both her softness and courage. Great job on the skin tones in this one as well.
So when you get your Art Marketing book let us know if it's as helpful as it looks. I'm not quite to where you are in promoting your work so when I am I'd love to know that it's worth investing in.

My new favorite! I love the meaning behind her. Yes you are right we all need courage for something. Everywhere you turn, somebody is going through something and its sad, I try to count my blessings and to thank God for my troubles because theres always somebody who has it worst.

Peggy, what a beautiful painting ... and message. The shape of her eye and lips are superb, and the "softness" of her portrays the hardships requiring courage in each of us.

Thank you for the reminder of so many in this world whom are being courageous today, mostly by a force of nature that requires such, and a few, perhaps, by choice. There are far too many whom are facing fear head on, and having to move through it ... courageously. Such folks are not alone, and need to be lifted up, ... just as you have done within this work of art. You have lifted me up today, sweetie; thank you. Beautiful art, created by a beautiful soul!

I think if you take those 10 paintings so far, and set them against a wall, all in order, you will see some cool things happening. I sure do.

I like the different head position and the way you handled the wording in a different way in this one. Can you keep this up through 20? I bet you can - I bet the muse keeps handing you the inspiration one piece at a time and no faster. She's like that. Wants us to believe and keep trusting each and EVERY time we step up to the page.
