I have to show you something fun. Do you remember when I showed you this mixed-media painting (those are watercolor papers that I tore and then collaged back into a pattern.) It's never looked finished to me but I sent the image over to Spoonflower which is a company that will take your own personal art and turn it into fabric!!
Many of you know about this great company but it was new stuff to me.
This is a yard of my own custom fabric. Isn't that fun?? I mirrored the image and that's why it's a little different but I was just trying this company out to see what kind of quality they produced. I was very pleased with their quality. Now I just have to improve on my photographs and design ideas!

mber my cow painting? It's funny but it has been a favorite of mine.It is an acrylic piece that I did in my 5th journal after cutting hay around a dairy farm.
This is it as a printed fabric!

I'm not sure what I'll do with the fabric yet. I'm seeing so many new collage ideas with fabric and I thought it would be fun to have some of my own. I quilted years ago and would have loved to design some of my own fabric then. I would love to hear your ideas.This is just another fun way to express your art!

Oooh i love your patterns on the fabric! I saw this company on another blog recently and am raring to have a go myself....looks like lots of fun. The cows look great... makes you want to have a go with other paintings doesn't it? See it all in a different light totally! xx
Peggy these are awesome! LOVE the cows, and what a great idea to take the 'end product' of your painting and make it into the 'starting product' of whatever you make with the fabric. Must feel great to see your own designs on there. Next stop gift wrap and a home decor line :-)

How cool to try them on fabric. That's a great idea. I love the way the cow has come out. It almost has a Batik feel to it.

Awesome way to get unique fabric, Peggy! Love this idea, and will run to check out the company's website right after posting this. I quilted years ago also, and this makes me want to get back into some new form of textile art! I really love the way the cows turned out - very unique fabric concept. I've never seen anything like it. It's a wonderful painterly painting, working both as an abstract composition and definitely as cows.

Can I just say, these are fantastic. Love the abstract fabric and I can't believe how great the cow print turned out, it has this great geometric feel from a distance and it's not until closer up that you see the cows. Love the cows by the way, I grew up on a farm in a small framing community, still love it.
