Prayer and Practice

We can blame this one on Linda over at Vulture Peak Muse and this enchanting blog entry she posted not long ago on the artist, Franz Marc. I loved the video she provided and I had to know more. So I ordered two books- this one and this one because I was fascinated with the vibrant, electric colors and compositions. I love to draw animals but I want to draw exciting animal pictures so I literally ripped open the box at the post office and then devoured the pages in the parking lot, again at home and then nothing could have stopped me from trying to do something of what I saw.

This is a practice piece I did in my new journal. My church has commissioned me to do a large piece for the new foyer they are remodeling and I have been praying about ideas. I WILL NEED DIVINE Intervention to carry this off because I am not confident enough to paint such a public piece. I think the large painting might be better in acrylic or oils with more vibrant colors. I collaged a couple of birds and pieces of an old book (I will use an old Bible page on the next one...if this is it). It will be interesting to get a consensus. This is only practice so I could certainly use any ideas or critiques.

peggy, you will do fine and this is very cool! thanks for the little shout to my blog...I'm glad you like marc as much as I do...his animals have such soul, can't think of another word that makes it better...I went on a book buying splurge on alibris [not sure of spelling] and found some I couldn't find on amazon and for much less...they are nicely used and hopefull not a mess...kandinsky, marc, cezanne and I am so excited and I found so many more but want to see the quality first...the most I paid was 15.00!

hmmm, the wall~~~
maybe a wall of God's creatures, their life and vibrancy, color and movement, flight and underwater wonders...well, you did ask but imagine! :)

I think your church is blessed to have your talent and I think there will be many who will be blessed by your visual prayer for them. Bless you and keep living the Kre8ive Life- it is the life you were meant to live.

I love it. Vibrant and full of life. I think your church will love and be blessed by whatever the Lord puts in your heart and mind to do.
Remember the first person that the word of God says was filled with the Spirit of God was an artist.

It is certainly vibrant!
and very visually moving.
I think that what ever you create, even if it is a collage will be wonderful, because you put so much heart into what you create, and is that not the essence of God? Love and heart?
