Paintings passed the test

Two of the three paintings I submitted for the art show got juried in. This one "Hope Unfolding".

And this one: "Mr. Mantis Praying"

And this one "Looking For Answers" didn't make it in. I wonder if it was because of its religious connotations or because the palette is more muted.

They will show in early August at the Roswell Museum. Thanks for all the well wishes. I was pleased to get two in this year. I'll let you know about the final results.

Next week is when I take Ken Hosmer's class. Can't wait to bring some new stuff home.

At 1st glance, I thought "Looking For Answers" was The Farmer standing before a doorway ..... but maybe someone did think "religious/controversial"..... ? ...... who knows? I love them all. My favorite is Mr. Mantis ..... Congratulations!!!!! and have FUN!!!!

I love all three paintings for different reasons. Congratulations on the first two being juried in. I'm sure `Looking for Answers' will find its own space too. Much love. x

congrats on getting *2* in, that's fabulous in my opinion!! I think it's the vibrancy of color that did it and the other is very muted in comparison or maybe they want there to be some sort of "look" to each entry?? I have no idea because it is also very good...anyway, have fun next week!!

glad to see you back but now am saying bye again....ah well, have fun and bring back fun things to see...sounds like fun to me!

Oh, congratulations. I'm so glad you had two accepted. I like all three of them, but maybe you're right about the religious content.

Thanks for you comments on my drawing. I think I'm going to submit it to the student art show. The deadline is in two weeks. So wish me luck that it gets accepted.

Stunning works! I especially like the mantis...For me, it's the best of them all-the colors, play of images, rhythm, and small watermark like designs beneath.
