A Visit to the Pumpkin Patch

Well, I've been having a good time as you can see. My Mom and Dad came to visit for a week and then we all went to Cloudcroft for 3 days. When we got back, my daughter and my grandsons came for the weekend. We all went to the pumpkin patch before they left and the boys chose their own pumpkins, plus one for every friend they could think of. We've had cloudy, cool fall weather but no freeze. If anyone has tips or web-sites for me to visit for painting or decorating pumpkins, please send my way. I have a car load that I would like to dress up, although they are beautiful in their natural state. I just need a little porch art. I'm painting today in between laundry and house maintenance. There's such a let-down after having all that excitement in my house that I'm doing something fun to ease back into my normal schedule.

dear "chick"en licken:

henny penny has been feeling a little under the weather, trying to adjust to job numero 2, less sleep, interruption of healthy eating habits and juggling life right now.

i just NOW realized that i was trying to roll around in the "feeling sorry for myself" mud and POOF i got your comment...and with it? a nice, gentle, subliminal kick in the "arse" that said "PUT YOUR BIG GIRL PANTIES ON" and rock it out like only you know how!

your pumpkins made me smile, as did the little elves dancing around them! is that you with them? it's nice to put a face with a name. i'll reciprocate as well. no creepy stalker crap here.

oh and fyi...although i've been nursing myself, i've still been peaking in on you...

everybody write MOUTHY IRISH-Catholic Woman and get her gutsy, humour traveling around the blog world again. We could all use a sublimal kick in the arse now and then!

I love pumpkins!Great photos too. Family experiences are especially meaningful when you reconnect with nature. In Australia, I have learned you can buy and eat pumpkin much of the year (as opposed to mainly just at Autumn harvest in eastern America). Yet, they do not know what pumpkin pie is down here?

I love the photos of the boys with their pumpkins. Orange is such an October color, isn't it?

I love your family outing pictures, especially those little boys...they remind me of mine, which I don't get to see nearly enough.
